Modest Gains for US Beauty

Sales rise 3% in prestige channels, says NPD.

Department store counters were off-kilter in 2014, as makeup sales were rosy, while skin care sales were a bit blemished. Overall, US prestige beauty industry sales rose 3% to $11.2 billion, according to The NPD Group, Inc.
